1995-batch AGMUT cadre officer replaces Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal; brings over three decades of experience in Delhi Police and key Union Territory postings

New Delhi/Port Blair: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has appointed Ravindra Singh Yadav as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Mr Yadav, a senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1995 batch of the AGMUT cadre, replaces Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, a 1997-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, who has been transferred to Delhi for a new assignment.

The appointment comes as part of a broader reshuffle within the AGMUT cadre, with speculation that Dhaliwal may be assigned an important role in Delhi after Madhup Kumar Tiwari was recently moved to Arunachal Pradesh.
